Unrelated Business Income Report (PC-227)

  • Property owners of exempt properties that are taxed in part MUST file reports by March 15 every year.
  • This form is to be filed in addition to the Biennial Property Tax Exemption Report that state statutes require you to file every even-numbered year.
  • Partial taxation is governed by Wis. Stat. § 70.1105.
  • The City of Milwaukee ordinance MCO 307-2.5 requires partially taxed property owners to file an Unrelated Business Income Report (form PC-227) annually by March 15.
  • It is important that you complete all parts of the form that pertain to the current use of your property so that we can accurately determine the value of any taxable portion of your property.

Guidance Specific to City of Milwaukee Properties

  • Taxation District and county should read: City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County
  • Legal Description.  A legal description is the formal description of your property’s location and boundary.  Your property’s legal description can be found on your deed, tax bill, assessment notice, or you can look it up at assessments.milwaukee.gov.
  • Parcel Number: The City of Milwaukee refers to Parcel Number as “Taxkey”.  We included this number on letters sent to property owners.  Your taxkey can also be found on your tax bill, assessment notice, or you can look it up at assessments.milwaukee.gov.
