2021 Consolidated Plan
In accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Milwaukee has prepared and will submit to HUD a Five Year Consolidated Plan for Funding Years 2020-2024. The Consolidated Plan allows local jurisdictions and citizens the opportunity to shape the various housing and community development programs into effective, coordinated neighborhood and community development strategies.
This Consolidated Plan includes the Funding Allocation Plan with approved funding categories for Funding Year 2021. The Funding Allocation Plan incorporates strategic direction for the following grants: Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA).
This Consolidated Plan also includes the Regional Analysis of Impediments which examines policies, practices, and local housing market characteristics that may be preventing individuals from accessing fair housing. This document also suggests strategies communities may wish to consider to help document progress and milestones in removing them.
The City of Milwaukee Community Development Grants Administration will host a Consolidated Plan Webinar on, Friday,January 15, 2021 at 11:00 am, to give an overview of the proposed plan and obtain citizen comments on the proposed Consolidated Plan. Registration information for the Webinar can be found at www.ConPlanMKE.org. A recording of the webinar will be posted on the ConPlanMKE website for public viewing following the end of the meeting.
The Community and Economic Development Committee will take action on the Consolidated Plan at its’ meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1:30 pm. This is a virtual meeting. To view the proceedings visit the City Channel - Channel 25 on Spectrum Cable - or visit city.milwaukee.gov/citychannel.
The public comment period for review of the plan is from January 8, 2021 through February 9, 2021. Public comments can be submitted via comment form at www.ConPlanMKE.org or emailed directly to comment@conplanmke.org. Any written comments received will be forwarded to HUD, as required by Federal regulations
