Lisibon Avenue Corridor Plan (underway)
The Washington Park community recently completed a Quality of Life Plan that envisions Lisbon Ave as a safe, thriving, and family-friendly corridor. As part of this planning process, there will be a design charrette to explore conceptual redevelopment scenarios for several sites. Additionally, the City will be implementing a protected bike lane project to create a safer street environment that is more comfortable for people walking, biking, driving and taking transit. Now, the City and Rooted & Rising are identifying strategies to achieve that vision. Visit engage.milwaukee.gov/LisbonAve_CorridorPlan to stay informed about upcoming events and ways to engage.
Re-Imagining WIS 175 (underway)
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), along with study partners Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee, are collaboratively working on a study for WIS 175 between Wisconsin Avenue and Lisbon Avenue.Visit the webpage for more information.
WIS 175 Visioning Study (2017)
The Washington Park Plan was based on work undertaken by Washington Park Partners (WPP) that preceded this planning effort. WPP created a quality of life plan entitled Planning for Hope which identified many of the strengths, opportunities and challenges of the area. WPP heavily engaged the community in its process to gain insight into the concerns of the residents.
