The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works and Wisconsin Department of Transportation are planning to replace West National Avenue from South 39th Street to South 1st Street (2.6 miles). West National Avenue is an urban 4-lane, undivided principal arterial and connecting highway STH 59. The scope of work includes removing and replacing deteriorated pavement, curb & gutter, driveway approaches and sidewalk. Pedestrian curb ramps will be built to meet ADA compliance. Drainage structures, street lighting and traffic signals will also be upgraded.
Estimated construction cost $20 to $25 million.
We are currently in the preliminary design phase. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
