Mayoral Appointments

Thank you for your interest in serving the City of Milwaukee through participation on one of our many boards, commissions or task forces. The City of Milwaukee has more than 100 boards, each unique and focused on a distinct topic.

Mayor Johnson is, by ordinance or statute, tasked with appointing citizens to serve on boards and commissions. A full list of boards and commissions, including vacancies, can be viewed here. Appointments are also made by other entities, including the Common Council President.

If you would like to submit your name for consideration for a Mayoral appointment, please submit the following information and your resume below. Please note, submission for consideration does not guarantee an appointment. Potential appointees will be considered as vacancies arise.

Although we encourage you to indicate your interests or particular boards you are interested in serving on, you may be considered for boards or commissions other than those you may have mentioned.

Being appointed to a board or commission is a public process. Please be aware that some Boards or Commissions require background checks on potential nominees and most are subject to Common Council confirmation, which may involve a public hearing about your background and experience. By submitting this information, you acknowledge that such action will result in the creation of a public record, subject to Open Records requests under Wisconsin State Statute § 19.31-39.
