Mayoral Proclamations
The Office of Mayor Cavalier Johnson issues proclamations in the City of Milwaukee to recognize and commemorate special occasions and significant community and individual achievements.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson is pleased to acknowledge and celebrate exceptional individuals, groups, and events within the City of Milwaukee. The Mayor issues proclamations to honor, commemorate, or raise awareness of significant events, milestones, or achievements, and, in rare instances, noteworthy individuals who have made an impact on the community. These proclamations may be designated for a specific day, week, or month, and serve as public service documents; they are not legally binding and do not represent an endorsement by the Mayor.
All requests for proclamations must be submitted in writing a minimum of three weeks before the desired date. Priority consideration will be given to requests submitted within this timeframe; late requests may be deprioritized on the volume of requests. The Mayor’s Office reserves the right to alter or deny any proclamation request. Organizations do not hold exclusive rights to the day, week, or month tied to their proclamation, and proclamations from previous years will not be automatically reissued. A new request must be submitted and approved each year.
*Consecutive proclamations cannot be done yearly by the same organizations.
