When the Fire Chief or Police Chief terminates, demotes, or suspends a Department member for more than five days, the employee may appeal the discipline to the Fire and Police Commission (FPC). The FPC then conducts a public hearing to determine whether the discipline imposed by the Chief should be sustained, modified, or reversed. The hearings are summarized in writing. Selected hearing summaries of discipline appeals will be posted.
