Fire and Police Commission
The Fire and Police Commission (FPC) recently hosted a community meeting to introduce Krissie Fung, the newest appointee to the FPC Board. The discussion highlighted the commission’s role in overseeing Milwaukee’s public safety departments and ensuring transparency, accountability, and community engagement.
Krissie Fung shared her vision for increasing public trust in the FPC, emphasizing the importance of community involvement beyond high-profile events. She spoke about her background in civic engagement, criminal justice reform, and youth advocacy, as well as her commitment to fostering greater public participation in FPC meetings.
Attendees raised key issues, including community-oriented policing, public safety concerns like reckless driving, and the need for improved police training in areas such as mental health crisis response.
