Avanzando was founded in the summer of 2019 and is an Employee Resource Group (ERG) dedicated to the advancement and inclusion of the Hispanic/Latinx community within the City of Milwaukee. "Avanzando" is Spanish for moving forward.
Avanzando promotes the advancement of the Hispanic/Latinx community working at the City of Milwaukee by providing personal and professional development opportunities that attract, engage, and retain employees.
Avanzando seeks to foster awareness, understanding, and inclusion of Hispanic/Latinx heritage within City services.

A cultural celebration to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month in Milwaukee was held at city hall today, on Sept. 16.
Entitled "Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation 2022" -- the event celebrated heritage, culture and offered the public a chance to learn more about city services.
