Milwaukee to celebrate Independence Day in 2024
Tradition of City celebrations to include fireworks, family activities, and community events
MILWAUKEE — The City of Milwaukee’s Fourth of July festivities are scheduled for Thursday, July 4, 2024. Milwaukee has long celebrated the Fourth of July with community events throughout the city, a tradition dating back to 1911. This year, Milwaukee will celebrate the great American holiday with parades, picnics, games, talent contests, fireworks and more.
“Independence Day marks a special celebration of America in Milwaukee,” said Mayor Cavalier Johnson. “This beloved tradition across all our parks is one that families and friends mark as a highlight each summer. The City of Milwaukee is excited and thanks the community and our partners for their continued support.”
This year’s theme is “Working Together for a Better U.S.A.” Fourth of July celebrations will be held at Milwaukee County Parks throughout the city, including Alcott Park, Enderis Playfield, Gordon Park, Humboldt Park, Jackson Park, King Center, Lake Park, Lincoln Park, Mitchell Park, Noyes Park, Washington Park, and Wilson Park.
More information about Independence Day celebrations throughout the City of Milwaukee is available on the City’s website.
The Fourth of July celebrations are a community effort, including a city-wide Fourth of July Commission and neighborhood committees. The City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County are partners in the planning and hosting efforts.
The City urges the public to celebrate safely and to remember fireworks are illegal in the City of Milwaukee.
