City of Milwaukee leaders to mark milestone in Northridge Mall demolition

 

MILWAUKEE – Members of the local media are invited to join Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Alderwoman Larresa Taylor to highlight the mechanical demolition of the former Northridge Mall on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. (CST).

WHAT: Press conference on the demolition of the former Northridge Mall

WHEN: Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: 9009 N. Granville Station Road, Milwaukee, WI. See the attached map for entrance location.

WHO: Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, 9th District Alderwoman Larresa Taylor, WEDC Vice President of Business and Community Development Mike Ward, Department of City Development Commissioner Lafayette L. Crump, Milwaukee Fire Department Chief Aaron Lipski, Milwaukee Police Department Captain Andrew Tischer, and representatives from the Department of Neighborhood Services, demolition contractor Veit & Co, and asbestos abatement contractor Balestrieri Environmental & Development Inc.

This event will mark a significant milestone in the City of Milwaukee’s ongoing efforts to transform Granville Station and pave the way for future development. City of Milwaukee leaders will inform the media of the current status of the former mall and be available to answer questions. This event will be outdoors. Members of the media will not be granted access inside the former mall.
