Compost Workshop and Plant Sale Saturday, June 1 10AM – 2PM Garden District Community Garden Gazebo 3989 S 6th St Milwaukee, WI 53221 Workshops start at 11AM, 12PM, and 1PM.
Join us at the Garden District Community Garden Gazebo for an interactive composting workshop presented by Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful. Whether you're new to home composting or need a refresher, this workshop is designed to engage you in learning about what composting is, why it's important, and how to compost in your backyard. Workshops will be 45 minutes long and include a presentation, hands-on learning, and a Q&A. Need a compost bin? Pre-order yours through the City of Milwaukee’s 13th Annual Compost Bin Sale and pick it up on June 1!
Remember your plants! The Garden District Neighborhood Association will be hosting a plant sale with a variety of vegetables and flowers. The plant sale is CASH only.

Home composting is a great way to create a soil additive from the leaves and garden trimmings.
Both cold composting (a slower, less involved process) and hot composting (a faster, more involved process) can be achieved most months out of the year in Wisconsin. Learn more about these options from the DNR.
All compost piles in the City of Milwaukee must be in a bin constructed of commercial-grade materials such as heavy-duty plastic, cinder block, brick, or wood and have a hood, per City Ordinances.
