Brush Collection Guidelines

 

Brush and branches include woody stalks from pruning and branches up to 6" in diameter. Brush collection can be requested from April to November. Please note: DPW Sanitation does not collect brush from apartment complexes (5 or more units) or businesses.

  • Place up to 2 cubic yards (size of a couch) between the curb and sidewalk or alley for collection. Please keep brush piles out of the street.
  • Cut brush down to size. No branch should be longer than 4 feet or larger than 6 inches in diameter.
  • Request a pickup online or call 414 286-CITY (2489).
  • Brush piles larger than 2 cubic yards must be taken to a Drop-Off Center for disposal.

All other yard debris, including grass clippings, weeds, and garden debris, must be composted or grass cycled, or brought to a Drop Off Center.

 

 

Where Does the Brush Go?

Brush that is collected by DPW Sanitation through Drop Off Centers and curbside brush requests is composted.
