Project Summary

Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (from McKinley to Burleigh)

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, from McKinley Ave. to Burleigh St. will be reconstructed this summer, starting after Labor Day. It is anticipated that the project will take approximately 10 weeks. Construction will include grinding down the existing asphalt; replacing the sidewalk handicapped ramps; minor curb and sidewalk repair and reconstruction of bus pads (stops). The road will be open to traffic during the project but disruptions to traffic should be expected. One lane in both directions will be open to traffic. Driveways should be accessible at all times, keeping the businesses open to their customers. No parking will be allowed on King Drive, although City staff is working to identify other areas where parking can take place and side-street parking restrictions will be investigated to allow for additional hours of parking.
