Maintaining a Healthy Home

Lead poses serious risks to the brain and other vital bodily systems, with effects that can last a lifetime.

While lead exposure is harmful to everyone, pregnant people and children under the age of six are at the highest risk of lead poisoning. In young children, lead poisoning is often caused by ingesting or inhaling dust from lead-based paint found in homes built before 1978.

Preventing lead poisoning is possible. By identifying and eliminating lead hazards in your home, we can protect children and others from the harmful effects of lead exposure.
