STI Clinic Reopening

The Keenan STI Clinic reopened with limited hours. During these limited hours, STI clinic staff are prioritizing essential STI testing and treatment services. The City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) remains committed to providing safe, accessible, and high-quality sexual and reproductive health services to all residents.

Alternative STI Testing and Referral Options

Because the STI clinic is operating under limited hours, clinic staff may refer some residents to our community health partners who offer same-day STI testing and treatment. Each of these organizations has confirmed same-day availability for STI testing and treatment services.

Keenan Sexual Health Clinic

Keenan Sexual Health Clinic (KSHC), often referred to as the "STI Clinic," provides sexually transmitted infection and HIV-related services to uninsured and underinsured residents of Milwaukee and surrounding communities. Services are provided to anyone at least 12 years of age at no cost to the client. However, the clinic reserves the right to request insurance reimbursement while protecting each client's confidentiality.

The Sexual Health Clinic is closed on weekends and the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday immediately following, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve.

  • Services are provided on a walk-in basis. Wait times may vary.
  • Appointments are not accepted for any clinic services
  • Free condoms and emergency contraceptive are available for pickup each day until 4:30 pm.

Services Offered

  • Screening, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
  • Confidential HIV counseling and testing
  • Free external and internal condoms
  • Birth control methods, including: pills, patch, NuvaRing, and Depo injection
  • Vaccinations against Hepatitis B (with full exam)
  • Risk reduction counseling
  • Emergency contraception

Staff at KSHC also do epidemiological investigations and follow-up for patients who are known to have or are suspected of having Syphilis, HIV, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. All services are confidential.

All MHD Clinics, inlcuding Keenan Health Center, now stock Flu and COVID-19 test kits. Stop by a clinic to pick-up a test kit for free. Limited supply available.
