The 2025 DNR ECI Tree Canopy Grant supports Milwaukee's ongoing effort to improve urban landscapes and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. By expanding and maintaining our tree canopy, we aim to boost the benefits that trees bring to our neighborhoods—while also increasing property and landscape value.
Milwaukee Forestry Services is committed to planting and replacing trees wherever feasible. A certified arborist will assess each potential site to ensure it’s suitable for a new tree and recommend the most appropriate species for that location. However, in some cases, planting may not be possible due to underground utilities, nearby private trees, or visibility and safety concerns.
