Department of Administration
Jordan Primakow lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was born and raised in the suburbs of Milwaukee County. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Jordan’s introduction to the political world began during his senior year, when he interned for Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle. Following his graduation, Jordan worked in various capacities in Governor Doyle’s administration for six years eventually serving as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff in his Capitol Office. Then serving as his Deputy Finance Director and Political Director on his reelection campaign.
Jordan attended law school at Michigan State University, where he was accepted into the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute, eventually graduating Cum Laude in 2012. Upon his graduation, Jordan spent several years working at Halling & Cayo, a boutique law firm in Milwaukee.
Jordan transitioned out of law practice, to join his family’s lighting business, where he focused on increasing sales, expanding the client base, and preparing the business for eventual sale. Drawn to the service aspect of the nonprofit world, Jordan then served as the Director of Philanthropic Services for the Jewish Community Foundation in Milwaukee, which holds over $200 million in philanthropic assets.In 2019, Jordan returned to government service when he joined the City of Milwaukee Intergovernmental Relations team. Since his time there, he has led advocacy for the City, at the local, state and federal levels. Culminating in a historic bipartisan agreement in 2023 that staved off insolvency for the City of Milwaukee’s government through the implementation of the first municipal sales tax in the State of Wisconsin. Jordan went on to protect the City of Milwaukee’s financial interests by striking another bipartisan agreement in the Fall of 2023, which provided the state funding needed to retain the Milwaukee Brewers in the city through 2050.
Jordan lives on the East Side with his wife Annie, their daughter Lily, and dog Poppy. He is an avid fan on the Milwaukee Bucks and hates doing yard work.
