COVID-19 Second Dose Vaccine Incentive Program to Launch October 21

MILWAUKEE – A new COVID-19 vaccine incentive program will begin Thursday, October 21 for any City of Milwaukee resident 12 years of age and older who receives their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“It is crucially important for everyone to complete their COVID vaccination series to be protected from the virus,” said Health Commissioner Kirsten Johnson. “With this incentive program, we hope to encourage those who only got their first shot to prioritize getting their second.”

While supplies last, any individual who receives their second dose at the Northwest Health Center (7630 W. Mill Rd.), Southside Health Center (1639 S. 23rd St.), or Menomonee Valley COVID-19 Site (2401 W. St. Paul Ave.) will also receive one $25 U.S. Bank gift card on site. The Milwaukee Health Department has 1,000 gift cards to distribute for this program.

Currently, 56.4% of Milwaukee residents 12 years of age and older are fully vaccinated, with 61.5% having received their first dose.

Everyone who is eligible to receive the free COVID-19 vaccine is eligible to receive this gift card, regardless of insurance, ID, or citizenship. Individuals under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian present to receive their vaccine and incentive. This incentive is not available for booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Information about this incentive program and clinic hours can be found at milwaukee.gov/COVIDvax or directed to the COVID-19 Hotline at 414-286-6800.
