To inform the selection of MKE Elevate's Priority Action Areas, the City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) conducted a citywide survey to better understand what issues mattered the most to those who live and work in Milwaukee. A total of 2,117 surveys were completed online and at events across the city between May 28, 2022 and September 10, 2022. Please review the Priority Issues Survey Results report for more details.
The survey included a list of 36 health issues that align with 12 topics. The top five issues identified by the community as important for improving health and well-being in Milwaukee are:
1. Healthy Foods & Nutrition
2. Crime and Neighborhood Safety
3. Mental Health
4. Drug Use
5. Healthcare Services
The results from this Community Survey were combined with broad community input to develop the MKE Elevate Priority Action Areas.
