The Building Code Enforcement Manager- Commercial is responsible for management and staff development related to the Commercial Building Code Enforcement, Hazardous Inspections, Fire Prevention Permits, and Commercial Building Maintenance operations, including fire inspections, license inspections, and environmental inspections and enforcement.

The Carpenter builds, installs, maintains, and repairs building components such as exterior and interior elements, cabinetry, furniture, flooring, walls, and prefabricated interior constructs.

The Communication Assistant IV assigned to Fleet Dispatch coordinates fleet availability for scheduled assignments and available staff and processes calls reporting absences, repair requests, fuel requests, accidents, or other information for Dispatch management.

The Research and Policy Coordinator performs research on a variety of benefit and safety programs and services, collects and analyzes information, and uses the data to inform decision-making for City benefits, safety efforts, and labor contract negotiations.

 

NOTE: Transfer/Promotional Opportunities and Promotional Examinations are not open to Milwaukee Public Schools employees or to the public. Only current City of Milwaukee employees and civilian personnel in MFD and MPD hired through a City Service Commission process who have successfully passed a probationary period for a Civil Service position or who have status as a City of Milwaukee employee in a fixed term position will be considered. Individuals with exempt, provisional, temporary, or emergency appointments are not eligible for transfer.
