Accounting Assistant III

The Accounting Assistant III performs critical cashiering control, general fund accounting, investment portfolio management, payroll administration, and payment distribution functions within the Investments and Financial Services Division.

Communications Assistant III

The Communications Assistant III assigned to the Water Distribution section of the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) provides operational communications, customer service, and records research, documentation and retention for both emergency and routine MWW field services.

Communications Assistant V

The Communications Assistants V provide operational communications and customer service for the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) Control Center 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

IT Support Specialist-Senior

As a member of the Information Services Support team, the IT Support Specialist-Senior assists the Information Services Manager and assigned IT Support Specialist-Lead in the maintenance, upgrade and technical support of the department's hardware and software applications.

The Library Reference Assistant (LRA) performs public service duties at the reference desk of a branch library or at the Central Library as well as a variety of non-public duties that affect the quality of services provided to the public. 

Neighborhood Improvement Project Inspector

The Neighborhood Improvement Project (NIP) Inspector provides comprehensive property inspections, creates and approves scopes of work, estimates rehabilitation costs, and ensures that rehabilitation and new construction work meets building codes. Projects must comply with the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, City of Milwaukee construction specifications, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, and Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) regulations. The NIP Inspector inspects and signs off on construction permits and approves payment requests to contractors and agencies. 

Program Assistant I

Under the direction of the Business Operations Manager, the Program Assistant I performs personnel, payroll, and accounting functions and provides administrative support for the Common Council and all divisions of the City Clerk’s Office.

Program Assistant I

The Program Assistant I in the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW), Meter Services unit oversees the processes that loads data from the Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system to MWW’s customer information system (enQuesta) and performs maintenance and optimization to the daily work routes used by the Meter Services field staff.



NOTE: Transfer/Promotional Opportunities and Promotional Examinations are not open to Milwaukee Public Schools employees or to the public. Only current City of Milwaukee employees and civilian personnel in MFD and MPD hired through a City Service Commission process who have successfully passed a probationary period for a Civil Service position or who have status as a City of Milwaukee employee in a fixed term position will be considered. Individuals with exempt, provisional, temporary, or emergency appointments are not eligible for transfer.
