The Office of Public Relations disseminates information externally to the public via telephone inquiries and through the use of electronic and print media. This office also relays information interdepartmentally through memos. This information may include, but is not limited to high profile investigations, crime statistics, and police /community programs and functions.
The Office of Public Relations disseminates this information through news conferences, and news releases with the local media. Also, the Office of Public Relations fields requests for interviews, speakers and appearances by Department members. These requests come from various entities such as schools, professional organizations, and local, national and international media outlets.

The Office of Public Relations is staffed Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM CST. A night Inspector will alert the local media after hours of significant incidents. The Office is closed on weekends/holidays unless there is a matter of public safety, a critical missing person, or a critical incident.
