Please note that incomplete test requests, lack of necessary demographics on the test requisition or inappropriate sample packaging and transport may delay test turn around time. Extremes in temperature (cold and hot) during transport of specimens should be avoided and may lead to inaccurate or misleading results. The laboratory has Styrofoam containers available for transport upon request.
If an outbreak is suspected, the laboratory can assist with appropriate test selection, collection and transport information. In addition to clinical specimens, testing for environmental, food, dairy, and water samples may be available for public health needs.
