Developmental Screening


The first several years of a child’s life are a time of remarkable growth and development that is incredibly important to the child’s overall health and well-being. The City of Milwaukee Health Department’s (MHD) Strong Baby Program is dedicated to supporting and empowering families and children in Milwaukee to live their best life and reach their healthiest potential through increased awareness, education, and access to resources that support children’s developmental health.

Community Outreach

Our Community Outreach Specialist partners and collaborates with community members, child cares, schools, health care providers, and community organizations that impact children and families in Milwaukee to:

  • Provide training, education, and inform practice on children’s developmental screening
  • Build awareness on the importance of children’s developmental monitoring and screening
  • Connect caregivers, community members, and community agencies to local resources and early childhood services
  • Provide community outreach, community groups, and educational events related to developmental screening and children’s developmental health
