Block Watch is a program allowing neighborhoods the opportunity to come together and help prevent and report crime. One of the best tools used to fight crime is a good neighbor. For more information on starting a block watch or to locate a block watch in District 7, contact our Community Prosecution Unit at (414) 935-7278.
Burglars will often use a con to gain entry to your home. The subject will knock on your door and when you answer attempt to play upon your sympathies. The subject will claim to be cold or hungry and in need of your help. When you let the person in and leave the person alone they will take items and leave.
Property where nuisance activity occurs regularly is a blight on the whole neighborhood. Under the City of Milwaukee Chronic Nuisance Property Code (80-10-2) MPD can notify the owner and request a plan to stop chronic nuisances from continuing.
Get to know your neighbors and improve the look of your neighborhood by organizing a clean-up!
Parking overnight on Milwaukee streets requires a permit, except on a temporary basis for special circumstances.
Snow blowers, lawn mowers and flat screen televisions are some of the most commonly stolen items in a theft or burglary. By marking your property you can reduce the chances of it being stolen in the first place, and increase your chances of having property returned to you.
Practicing good personal safety habits is the best way to protect yourself in any environment. These tips are designed to help you build awareness and skills to protect yourself and property from theft or damage.
