About Us

Our mission is to ensure that the City of Milwaukee cultivates an environment where BAA employees are valued, respected, supported, and encouraged to better serve the BAA Milwaukee population, as evidenced by increased BAA employee recruitment, retention, and engagement in City of Milwaukee initiatives.

Please join the City of Milwaukee’s Black/African American Employee Resource Group (BAAERG) in celebrating Black History Month!

The 2026 Black History Month theme is “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Negro History Week, initiated in 1926 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson. We encourage reflection on how Black history commemorations have endured, transforming the status of Black people in the modern world while emphasizing the importance of shaping the future. BAAERG will host and participate in various Black History Month events. We are happy to celebrate with you!

  • Volunteering at Feeding America – Southeast Wisconsin Branch
  • BAAERG Scavenger Hunt
  • BAAERG Game Night
  • Learning Hours – Redress Movement
