Vel R. Phillips Statue Fund
A state board has approved the placement of a statue of legendary Milwaukee trailblazer and leader Vel R. Phillips on the grounds of the State Capitol in Madison. Donations to the fund will be used to fund the statue’s creation and placement, expected to cost $2.5 million.
