Captain Jasmine D. Arce
Captain Jasmine Arce has proudly served the Milwaukee Police Department for over 22 years. Captain Arce started her career in law enforcement as a Police Aide as a teenager, following in the footsteps of her mother, who also worked for the Milwaukee Police Department. Arce spent time on patrol in Districts 2 and 7 as a Police Officer, responding to countless calls for service, building relationships with community members, and gaining operational experience. She also worked as a School Resource Officer and collaborated with students, teachers, and families to provide school safety, mentorship, and police engagement.
In 2017, Captain Arce was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to District 5. As the Community Units Supervisor, Captain Arce collaborated with residents, community groups, local officials, and businesses to identify neighborhood issues, solve problems together, and build trust between the MPD and the community. She was then assigned to the Milwaukee Police Academy, where she supervised and trained recruits. During her time at the Milwaukee Police Academy, Captain Arce focused on mentoring and leading the next generation of Milwaukee police officers.
Captain Arce was promoted to Lieutenant in 2024. Arce worked in the Criminal Investigation Bureau's Gun Violence Division, the Sensitive Crimes Division, and the Milwaukee Police Academy. These assignments allowed Captain Arce to further develop her ability to lead detectives through complex investigations and support victims of crimes that are sensitive in nature.
Captain Arce was promoted to Captain in 2026 and returned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau as the Captain of the Gun Violence Division. Captain Arce leads the strategic reduction of violent crime through intelligence-led policing, data-driven enforcement, problem-solving, and collaboration with community stakeholders.
Captain Arce is currently an Adjunct Instructor for the Milwaukee Police Academy and a Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board-certified instructor. Captain Arce instructs defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations training, professional communications, vehicle contacts, and scenario-based decision-making. Captain Arce is a proud member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), and FBI-LEEDA. She has attended the IACP Leadership in Police Organizations course, the Women in Leadership Institute, Force Science De-escalation Training, ICAT, Fair & Impartial Policing Training, Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement (ABLE), and various advanced supervisory and leadership law enforcement training.
In 2025, Captain Arce received the Black Excellence Award. She continues to work every day to better the relationship between law enforcement and the community through leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
