Milwaukee Police Department
Inspector David Feldmeier is the second youngest of nine children. He was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin and has lived most of his adult life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has two adult children.
Inspector Feldmeier began his career as a police officer in 1995. He is assigned to the Executive Command in charge of the Patrol Bureau within the Office of the Chief. Prior to his promotion to Inspector, he was a captain and the commanding officer of the Fifth District Police Station. Inspector Feldmeier has completed 26 years of service with the Milwaukee Police Department.
Inspector Feldmeier has been a patrol officer and supervisor at several different police districts. He was a boat operator on Harbor Patrol, a tactical operator and team leader on SWAT, and an investigator and supervisor at Internal Affairs.
Inspector Feldmeier is a certified LESB instructor in Unified Tactics and is an adjunct instructor at the Milwaukee Police Academy. He has taught Supervision of Police Personnel for Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety and is a trainer for Fair and Impartial Policing.
Inspector Feldmeier earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, and earned the professional designation of Certified Public Manager through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Inspector Feldmeier continues to promote community engagement within the police department and puts a priority on officer health and wellness.
