Captain David K. Feldmeier
Captain David K. Feldmeier is the second youngest of nine children and has two adult children of his own. He has lived all of his adult life in the city of Milwaukee. Currently a captain, David has completed 24 years of service with the Milwaukee Police Department and is the Commanding Officer of District Five. He started his career with the department as a patrol officer assigned to District Seven in 1995 after graduating the police academy. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant and then lieutenant within the Patrol Bureau and served in the following roles: supervisor and shift commander at multiple districts, boat operator on Harbor Patrol, tactical operator and team leader on SWAT, and an investigator and supervisor at Internal Affairs. As a Lieutenant, Captain Feldmeier was appointed to the role of Acting Captain at District Five Police Station, in April of 2020 and was officially promoted to Captain in June of 2020. He is a state certified police instructor in Unified Tactics and holds multiple instructor certifications in various topics to include Fair and Impartial Policing. Captain Feldmeier is an adjunct instructor at the Milwaukee Police Academy for department-wide in-service and recruit training. He is an instructor for Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety in the Supervision of Police Personnel program.
Captain Feldmeier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix. He is a graduate of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command Collage through the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Patrol, where he earned the professional designation of Certified Public Manager. Captain Feldmeier is a wrestling coach and four-time Ironman triathlete. In his free time, he loves to fish and spend time biking and working out.
