 Inspector David K. Feldmeier

Inspector David Feldmeier is the second youngest of nine children. He was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin and has lived most of his adult life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has two adult children.

Inspector Feldmeier began his career as a police officer in 1995. He is currently assigned to the Executive Command in charge of the Patrol Bureau within the Office of the Chief, comprising seven police districts and the Specialized Patrol Division.  

Prior to his promotion to Inspector, he was a captain and the commanding officer of Police District Five. Inspector Feldmeier led District Five at ground zero in Milwaukee, during nation-wide civil unrest and the world-wide Covid pandemic.  Inspector Feldmeier has completed 29 years of service with the Milwaukee Police Department.

Inspector Feldmeier has been a patrol officer and supervisor at several police districts. He was a boat operator on Harbor Patrol, a tactical operator and team leader on SWAT, and an investigator and supervisor at Internal Affairs.

Inspector Feldmeier is a certified LESB instructor in Unified Tactics and is an adjunct instructor at the Milwaukee Police Academy. He was a graduate and an instructor of Supervision of Police Personnel at Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety and is a trainer for Fair and Impartial Policing.

Inspector Feldmeier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix, and earned the professional designation of Certified Public Manager from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command College through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Inspector Feldmeier continues to promote community engagement within the police department and puts a priority on officer health and wellness.
