Inspector Craig Sarnow was appointed to the Milwaukee Police Department in 1998, and upon graduating from the academy was assigned to District Seven as a patrol officer on the Late Shift. In 2005, he was promoted to Sergeant and worked in District Two and later at the Internal Affairs Division. In 2017, he was promoted to Lieutenant and worked in District One and again at the Internal Affairs Division.
In 2019, he was promoted to Captain and assigned as the commander of the Fusion Division. In 2020, he was assigned to the Internal Affairs Division ensuring thorough, objective and impartial investigations are conducted when allegations of misconduct are reported.
In December of 2021, Inspector Sarnow was promoted to Inspector and oversses the entire Administration Bureau.
Inspector Sarnow is a life-long City of Milwaukee resident and graduated from Milwaukee Tech High School in 1992. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broad Area Business from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and is a Certified Public Manager from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command College by way of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
