 Captain Andrew P. Tischer

 

Captain Andrew P. Tischer began his career with the Milwaukee Police Department in 2001 and upon completing the Police Academy, he was assigned to District Seven.  While at District Seven, he was assigned to the Anti-Gang Unit and the newly formed Community Prosecution Unit, working closely with a Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney to address community concerns within the district boundaries.  In 2007, he was transferred to the Intelligence Division (later becoming the Neighborhood Task Force) and was assigned to the Fugitive Apprehension Unit.  He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2011 and supervised patrol officers in District Seven, District Four, and District Five, before returning to the Neighborhood Task Force to supervise the Fugitive Apprehension Unit.  He was promoted to lieutenant in 2020 and held assignments in District Two and District Five.  In December 2023, he was promoted to Captain of Police and is the commander of District Four.   

Captain Tischer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a graduate of Leadership in Police Organizations.
