HUMBOLDT PARK 4TH OF JULY PARADE (14TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 2 & 4)

It is anticipated that on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. the following roadways will be closed to traffic for the Annual Humboldt Park Independence Day Parade: South Kinnickinnic Avenue from East Lincoln Avenue to South Logan Avenue; East Linus Street from South Kinnickinnic Avenue to South Woodward Avenue; East Smith Street from South Howell Avenue to South Kinnickinnic Avenue; East Conway Street from South Woodward Avenue to South Kinnickinnic Avenue; South Logan Avenue from South Kinnickinnic Avenue to East Idaho Street; and East Idaho Street from South Logan Avenue to South Pine Avenue. 

LIVE LAUGH LOAVES MKE 4TH OF JULY PARADE (11TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 6)

It is anticipated that on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 12:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. the following roadways will be closed to traffic for the Live Laugh Loaves MKE 4th of July Parade: West Manitoba Street from South 49th Street to South 51st Street; northbound South 51st Street from West Manitoba Street to West Cleveland Avenue; West Cleveland Avenue from South 51st Street to South 55th Street; and South 55th Street from West Cleveland Avenue. 

Upcoming Events

BASTILLE DAYS FESTIVAL/RUN (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)

Bastille Days Festival will begin on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. and continue through Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 8:00 P.M.  This festival requires the closing of the following streets beginning Monday, June 29 and ending Monday, July 13, 2026:  Eastbound East Kilbourn Avenue from North Jefferson Street to North Jackson Street will be closed beginning on Monday, June 29, 2026. East Kilbourn Avenue from North Jackson Street to North Van Buren Street, westbound East Kilbourn Avenue from North Van Buren Street to North Milwaukee Street North Jefferson Street from East Wells Street to East Kilbourn Avenue, North Milwaukee Street from East Kilbourn Avenue to East State Street, East Wells Street from North Milwaukee Street to North Van Buren Street; and North Jackson Street from East Wells Street to East State Street will be closed beginning Monday, July 6, 2026.

It is expected that the Bastille Days Run will be in progress between the hours of 8:00 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2026.  The run will be on the following streets and will close them to all traffic:  North Broadway from East Menomonee Street to East Juneau Avenue, East Menomonee Street from North Broadway to North Milwaukee Street, North Milwaukee Street from East Menomonee Street to East Wells Street, East Mason Street from North Milwaukee Street to North Jefferson Street, North Jefferson Street from East Wisconsin Avenue to East Wells Street, East Wisconsin Avenue from North Jefferson Avenue to North Prospect Avenue, North Prospect Avenue from East Wisconsin Avenue to East State Street, East State Street from North Prospect Avenue to North Jackson Street, North Jackson Street from East State Street to East Juneau Avenue, 

East Juneau Avenue from North Jackson Street to North Broadway, and North Astor Street from East Kilbourn Avenue to East State Street. 

SUMMERFEST (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)

It is anticipated that Summerfest will be in progress over the following three weekends: Thursday, June 18 to Saturday, June 20; Friday, June 25 to Saturday, June 27; and Thursday, July 2 to Saturday, July 4, 2026. This event will close North Harbor Drive between East Michigan Street and East Chicago Street, East Chicago Street from North Jackson Street to North Harbor Drive, North Lincoln Memorial Drive from East Chicago Street to East Summerfest Place, East Summerfest Place from North Lincoln Memorial Drive to East Erie Street, and East St. Paul Avenue from North Jackson Street to North Van Buren Street. Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic patterns and congestion in the area. 


Projects in Progress

WEST HOWARD AVENUE – SOUTH 27TH STREET TO WEST LOOMIS ROAD (10TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 3)

It is anticipated that West Howard Avenue from South 27th Street to West Loomis Road will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the bridge over Miner Creek beginning Thursday, June 18, 2026 and extending to October 2026 (weather dependent) for bridge and culvert improvements. Signed vehicular and pedestrian detours will be in place. 

27TH STREET VIADUCT OVER THE MENOMONEE RIVER (4TH, 12TH) (POLICE DISTRICTS 2, 3)

It is anticipated that the 27th Street Viaduct will be closed to traffic beginning February 2026 and continuing through late 2026 for work associated with the WisDOT 94 East-West Freeway Project.   

SOUTH HAWLEY ROAD – WEST PARK HILL AVENUE TO WEST ADLER STREET (10TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 3)

It is anticipated that South Hawley Road from a point south of West Park Hill Avenue to a point north of West Adler Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Monday, January 5, 2026 through Fall of 2028 for work associated with the WisDOT 94 East-West Freeway Project. 

NORTH MARSHALL STREET – EAST MASON STREET TO EAST WELLS STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)

It is anticipated that two-way vehicular traffic on North Marshall Street from East Mason Street to East Wells Street will be shifted to the east side of the road beginning Monday, October 23, 2023 through Summer of 2025 to facilitate construction operations for the Northwestern Mutual Building Expansion.  

16TH STREET VIADUCT OVER THE MENOMONEE RIVER (4TH, 12TH) (POLICE DISTRICTS 2, 3)

It is anticipated that the 16th Street Viaduct from West Clybourn Street to West Pierce Street and the ramp from South Emmber Lane to South 16th Street will be closed to traffic beginning Friday, December 5, 2025 for bridge inspections and repair. Bridge will remain closed until further notice. 

WEST GREVES STREET – 27TH STREET VIADUCT WEST TO ITS TERMINUS (8TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 3)

It is anticipated that West Greves Street from the 27th Street Viaduct west to its terminus will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Monday, December 8, 2025 through Fall of 2026 for work associated with the WisDOT 94 East-West Freeway Project.
