NEW DEVELOPMENTS

SOUTH 5TH STREET – WEST WASHINGTON STREET NORTH TO ALLEY (12TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 2)
It is anticipated South 5th Street from West Washington Street north to the alley will be closed to vehicular traffic Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. for the Urban Harvest Brewing Company Block Party.

SOUTH ALLIS STREET – EAST BECHER STREET TO EAST STEWART STREET (14TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 6)
It is anticipated South Allis Street from East Becher Street to East Stewart Street will be closed to vehicular traffic Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. for the Enlightened Brewing Block Party.

NORTH 35TH STREET – 200’ NORTH TO 200’ SOUTH OF 5048 NORTH 35TH STREET (1ST) (POLICE DISTRICT 7)
It is anticipated North 35th Street from 200’ north to 200’ south of 5048 North 35th Street will be closed to vehicular traffic Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. daily for a film shoot.

WEST STATE STREET – NORTH MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DRIVE TO NORTH VEL R PHILLIPS AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)It is anticipated that the traffic flow of West State Street from North Martin Luther King Jr Drive to North Vel R Phillips Avenue will change Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. (weather dependent) for a crane lift. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained in the westbound traffic and curb lanes.

NORTH 50TH STREET – WEST NORTH AVENUE TO WEST LISBON AVENUE (15TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 3)
It is anticipated that the traffic pattern of North 50th Street from West North Avenue to West Lisbon Avenue will change beginning Monday, April 25 and ending by Thursday, April 28, 2022 (weather dependent) for cell tower repairs. The southbound travel and parking lane will be closed and northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes. 

PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

SOUTH KINNICKINNIC AVENUE – EAST MAPLE STREET TO EAST BECHER STREET (12TH, 14TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 2)
It is anticipated that the South Kinnickinnic Avenue from East Maple Street to East Becher Street will be closed to traffic to accommodate repairs to the rail bridge over South Kinnickinnic Avenue beginning Monday, May 9 and ending Friday, May 13, 2022 (weather dependent). Signed detours will be in place for duration of project.

WEST WELLS STREET – NORTH VEL R PHILLPS AVENUE TO NORTH 6TH STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated West Wells Street from North Vel R Phillips Avenue to North 6th Street will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic beginning Sunday, May 1 and ending Saturday, December 31, 2022 (weather dependent) in order to construct a new service corridor to the Wisconsin Center expansion.

NORTH JAMES LOVELL STREET – WEST MICHIGAN STREET TO WEST WISCONSIN AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that North James Lovell Street from West Michigan Street to West Wisconsin Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, April 25 and ending by Friday, May 6, 2022 (weather dependent) for crane lifts to remove and replace a rooftop sign.

NORTH 6TH STREET – WEST WELLS STREET TO WEST KILBOURN AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that northbound North 6th Street from West Wells Street to West Kilbourn Ave will be closed to traffic beginning Tuesday, April 19 and ending Tuesday, April 26, 2022 (weather dependent) to make water & sewer connections for the Wisconsin Center Expansion. A signed detour will be in place for motorists. The roadway will be open to traffic weekends and during Bucks games.

EAST MASON STREET – NORTH MILWAUKEE STREET TO ALLEY WEST OF NORTH MILWAUKEE STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that the traffic pattern of East Mason Street from North Milwaukee Street west to the alley between North Milwaukee Street and North Broadway will change beginning Monday, April 25 and ending Friday, May 13, 2022 (weather dependent) for a roofing project. The westbound travel and parking lane will be closed and eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes. 

NORTH HUMBOLDT BOULEVARD – EAST NORTH AVENUE TO EAST KEEFE AVENUE (3RD) (POLICE DISTRICT 5)
It is anticipated that the traffic pattern for North Humboldt Boulevard from East North Avenue to East Keefe Avenue will change beginning Monday, March 28, 2022 for a roadway reconstruction project. For Stage 1, one lane of traffic for each direction of travel will be maintained in the northbound and southbound curb lanes. Subsequent traffic control stages will be set as progress allows. These traffic patterns are expected to be ongoing until December 2022 with additional work occurring until May 2023.

EAST NORTH AVENUE – NORTH BARTLETT AVENUE TO NORTH OAKLAND AVENUE (3RD) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that East North Avenue from North Bartlett Avenue to North Oakland Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning Wednesday, February 23 and extending until July 2022 (weather dependent) for a bridge reconstruction. Signed detours for eastbound and westbound traffic will be in place for motorists. In addition: for the duration of this project North Cambridge Avenue from East North Avenue to East Windsor Place will become a one-way southbound roadway and North Newhall Street from East Windsor Place to East North Avenue will become a one-way northbound roadway to aide in reducing traffic congestion on the detour route; new stop controls will also be placed at various intersections along the detour route to aide in traffic flow. 

NORTH MARYLAND AVENUE – NORTH OF EAST EDGEWOOD AVENUE IN THE VILLAGE OF SHOREWOOD (3RD) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that North Maryland Avenue north of East Edgewood Avenue at the border between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Shorewood will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, February 7, 2022 for approximately 6 weeks (weather dependent) for Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District work. 

NORTH VEL R PHILLIPS AVENUE – WEST KILBOURN AVENUE TO WEST WELLS STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that southbound North Vel R Phillips Avenue from West Kilbourn Avenue to West Wells Street will be closed to traffic until further notice. This closure is anticipated to last until the Wisconsin Center expansion is complete, approximately 24 months.

WEST BROWN DEER ROAD – NORTH 91ST STREET TO NORTH ARBON DRIVE (9TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 4)
It is anticipated that the traffic pattern of West Brown Deer Road from North 91st Street in the City of Milwaukee to North Arbon Drive in the Village of Brown Deer will change beginning the week of April 19, 2021 for a WisDOT roadway rehabilitation project. Two lanes of traffic for each direction of travel will be maintained during peak rush hours; traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction during mid-day, evening and weekend hours.

NORTH MARKET STREET – EAST WELLS STREET TO APPROXIMATELY 200’ NORTH OF EAST WELLS STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that North Market Street will only be accessible to vehicular traffic from East Kilbourn Avenue beginning Saturday, July 18, 2020 and continuing until Summer 2023 for the next phase of the City Hall Foundation Restoration Project. Access to Lower Parking will be maintained for the duration of the closure.

NORTH WATER STREET – EAST WELLS STREET TO EAST KILBOURN AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
Beginning Saturday, February 23, 2019, and continuing until July 2023, the east sidewalk and the entrance to City Hall on North Water Street will be closed. There will also only be one northbound traffic lane on the proper side of the road. A pedestrian walkway will be in place on North Water Street.
