The Republican National Convention will take place in Milwaukee from July 15th through July 18th, 2024. The City of Milwaukee is posting answers to frequently asked questions about public safety for residents, businesses, and visitors.
How will the City protect public safety during the RNC?
The unique challenges of the secure zones as well as normal emergency operations throughout all of Milwaukee’s neighborhoods are receiving equal attention. The Milwaukee Police Department and Milwaukee Fire Department, as well as the City and County Offices of Emergency Management, are working closely with the United States Secret Service, Wisconsin Emergency Management, and other local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to keep residents, businesses, and visitors safe during the RNC. What should I do if my business or I hear or see anything concerning public safety?
Contact 911 if it is an emergency. If the situation is not an emergency, call 414-933-4444 (for police) and 414-286-8999 (for fire). Report Suspicious behavior at 877-949-2824 or wiwatch.org.
Are my tax dollars being used to pay for the security of the RNC?
The City expects its RNC security operations to be paid for by a grant from the United States Department of Justice.
