Need A Smoke Detector?

The City of Milwaukee continues to see tragic fires in which smoke detectors were removed or not operating. All residents are encouraged to have a working smoke detector.

A smoke detector is a very inexpensive safety tool. The fire department recommends that one detector be placed on each floor of your home and one in each bedroom and/or sleeping area. Residents of the 1st District who do not have a working smoke detector in their home are encouraged to call the Smoke Detector Hotline at 414-286-8980 to see if they might be eligible for a free detector.
