Department of City Development
Located on Milwaukee's South Side, Historic Mitchell Street once rivaled the City's downtown shopping district. Many of the buildings still retain the historic architecture and are now home to new and exciting cultural clothing, dining and shopping destinations. Recent developments also include the new Gerald Ignace Indian Health Center which is up the street from the new planned branch of the Milwaukee Public Library. Make sure to head to Mitchell for a mix of the historic and international experiences.
