Common Council
Alderwoman Andrea M. Pratt is a dedicated public servant and advocate for the residents of Milwaukee’s 1st District. Elected to the Milwaukee Common Council on April 18, 2023, and re-elected in 2024, she is committed to community engagement, policy reform, and equitable representation. A lifelong resident of the 1st District, Alderwoman Pratt has a deep-rooted passion for public service. She is the daughter of former Milwaukee Mayor and Common Council President Marvin Pratt, continuing a proud family legacy of leadership. Before taking office, she served as a parent coordinator with Milwaukee Public Schools, where she worked to strengthen family engagement and student success. On the Milwaukee Common Council, she plays a pivotal role in shaping policy as: • Vice-Chair of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee • Member of the Licenses Committee • Member of the Public Works Committee Alderwoman Pratt is a strong voice for diversity, inclusion, and equitable governance. In 2024, she publicly addressed the lack of Black women in leadership roles within the Council, advocating for greater representation and opportunity. Her priorities include public safety, infrastructure improvements, economic development, and community-driven policies that enhance the quality of life for Milwaukee residents. With a clear vision and unwavering commitment, Alderwoman Andrea M. Pratt is dedicated to building a stronger, more inclusive Milwaukee.
