Aerotropolis Development Plan

Aerotropolis Milwaukee

The Department of City Development partnered with Aerotropolis Milwaukee, the Gateway to Milwaukee Business Improvement District, elected officials, and other local stakeholders to update the Southeast Side Area Plan to incorporate recommendations of the Aerotropolis Development Plan for the neighborhoods surrounding General Mitchell International Airport.  On November 7th, 2017, the Aerotropolis Development Plan Summary was adopted by the Common Council as an amendment to the Southeast Side Area Plan.

This effort will help build on the Aerotropolis Milwaukee goals of fostering economic collaboration by linking the region's air, rail, road, and shipping transportation capabilities. The partnership focuses on the evolution and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to generate the growth of business and communities in an aesthetically inviting aerotropolis area.  Please visit the Gateway to Milwaukee website for additional information about these efforts.
