Department of City Development
North 27th Street between Highland and St. Paul Avenues provides some of the most unique opportunities to attract development with the potential to shape the future of the Near West Side. While a significant amount of recent planning and analysis has occurred on the Near West Side, and on North 27th Street specifically, the Near West Side Partners (NWSP) and the Department of City Development (DCD) have called for the development of a concrete strategy for North 27th Street to help consolidate the recommendations of various planning efforts, reconcile them with current market conditions, and articulate a path forward. It is the hope of the Department of City Development and the NWSP and other area stakeholders that this effort provides a vision and a strategy that leads to an attractive and revitalized commercial corridor for the Near West Side and the City of Milwaukee.
