The City of Milwaukee Finance and Personnel Committee will consider a resolution, file #131672, on April 16, 2014 to approve an agreement with Froedtert Health for service related to the City Wellness program that includes the resumption of the City’s “Wellness Your Choice, Milwaukee” program including the outcome based Healthy Rewards.
As you are aware, after recovering the stolen drive with employee information, the Milwaukee Police Department’s forensics staff reported that the stolen drive had not been accessed. The agreement with Froedtert Health includes language regarding enhanced security, limited data sharing, and a limited number of persons at Workforce Health having access to the data. The agreement reflects resolution regarding current and future invoices. Froedtert Health has agreed not to subcontract or use Dynacare for any city wellness efforts. The agreement has been approved by the City’s Wellness and Prevention Labor Management Committee. The City has identified the value of wellness efforts, including the outcome based wellness program, as part of an effort to provide employees with an opportunity to maintain and/or improve their health and to better control health care costs.
The City recently completed a survey that was sent to all employees regarding the wellness program. Approximately 11% of employees responded to the survey with 91% indicating they had participated in the wellness program, 77% indicating they would continue to participate in the wellness program, and 60% indicating there is value to such comprehensive wellness programs. We appreciate the employees’ responses, and have reviewed their comments as well.
DER hopes that these steps allow employees to re-engage in the City’s comprehensive wellness program. Look for additional information regarding the outcome based wellness program on this web site after the full Common Council approves the file on April 22. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this issue.
