Compete Milwaukee

In 2015, the City of Milwaukee will partner with the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB) and UMOS (United Migrant Opportunity Services) to fund 135 transitional jobs for long-term unemployed men and women to get immediate work to support themselves and their families while seeking unsubsidized work.

Mayor Barrett Delivers 2015 Budget

Sept. 23, 2014 - Mayor Tom Barrett delivered his 2015 Executive Budget to the city's Common Council. This year's budget showed a continued commitment to public safety, neighborhood and job development, libraries and core infrastructure projects.

Milwaukee now has a safe and anonymous way to report suspected illegal weapons in the city. Residents can call: 335-GUNS (335-4867).

335-GUNS is Milwaukee’s CONFIDENTIAL gun hotline. Callers provide details and information that will help get guns off of our streets.

Each call could represent one or many lives that may be saved from accidental or intentional shootings.
