Mayor Barrett's 2016 Budget Address

Mayor Tom Barrett presented his 2016 proposed executive budget that gives Milwaukee residents needed relief and does not cut City services to the Common Council on Tuesday, September 22, at City Hall. Among the highlights of this year’s budget are an emphasis on public safety, economic security for residents, job and neighborhood development, core infrastructure investment and solid fiscal management.

Mayor Tom Barrett hosts the 10th Annual Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit. The theme of the Summit is “Celebrating 10 Years of Building Better Fathers and Families.” The free, public event will bring together a wide array of groups, agencies, businesses and individuals to provide the resources needed to build stronger fathers.

Mayor Barrett invites community members to participate in the City of Milwaukee's Trick-or-Treat on Halloween from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. in neighborhoods across the City.

Compete Milwaukee Transitional Job Program 

Compete Milwaukee

In 2015, the City of Milwaukee will partner with the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB) and UMOS (United Migrant Opportunity Services) to fund 135 transitional jobs for long-term unemployed men and women to get immediate work to support themselves and their families while seeking unsubsidized work.
