Sanitation Services

Sanitation Services provides garbage and recycling collection for approximately 200,000 households. Apartment buildings with units of five or more have the option of receiving trash collection services from Sanitation for the full cost of service or from a private vendor. The City of Milwaukee provides recycling service to single-family through four-unit households only.

Please submit your request online for the following services:
 

• Missing or damaged garbage or recycling carts
• Missed collection for garbage or recycling
• Special collections, as follows:
  • Household items, more than 1 cubic yard - $50 charge
  • Construction debris, less than 2 cubic yards - $42.50 per cubic yard
  • Brush, less than 2 cubic yards (Not collected during winter months.)
• Vacant lot clean ups
• Street and alley sweeping
• Snow plowing and icy road conditions
