NEW DEVELOPMENTS

EAST WISCONSIN AVENUE AT NORTH MILWAUKEE STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that East Wisconsin Avenue at North Milwaukee Street will have no north or south bound traffic thru the intersection starting on Monday, May 14 for approximately 2 weeks for streetcar work. (Anthony Kotecki 286-2433)

SOUTH 11TH STREET – WEST GREENFIELD AVENUE TO ALLEY NORTH OF WEST GREENFIELD AVENUE (2ND) (POLICE DISTRICT 12)
It is anticipated that on Monday, May 14 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. that this roadway will be closed for water utility work. (Sharon Betthauser - Work: 286-3632)

EAST CLYBOURN STREET AT NORTH VAN BUREN STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that on Monday, May 14 to Thursday May 17th the above intersection will have night closures and beginning Friday, May 18 at 10:00 A.M. to Sunday, May 20 this intersection will be closed for streetcar work. No northbound traffic will be able to access the intersection. (Tony Kotecki - Work: 708-3886)

WEST ST PAUL AVENUE – NORTH 4TH STREET TO NORTH PLANKINTON AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that on Monday, May 14 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. that this roadway will be closed to eastbound traffic due to a new streetcar delivery. (Tony Kotecki - Work: 708-3886)

WEST JUNEAU AVENUE – NORTH 10TH STREET TO NORTH 11TH STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that on Saturday, May 19 from 6:00 A.M. to midnight that this roadway will be closed for the Pabst MKE Brewery 1-year Anniversary event.  (Germaine Speth - Work: 286-3915)

EAST BURLEIGH STREET – NORTH PIERCE STREET TO NORTH FRATNEY STREET (3RD) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that on Saturday, May 19 from 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. that this roadway will be closed for the Riverwest Vintage Flee Market. (Germaine Speth – Work: 286-3915)

EAST WELLS STREET – NORTH BROADWAY TO NORTH WATER STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that from Friday, June 1 at 9:00 A.M. to Sunday, June 3 10:00 P.M. that this roadway will be closed for the BMO Tower Project.  Northbound traffic will remain open on North Market Street. (Sharon Betthauser – Work: 286-3632)

 

 

 

 

PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

EAST/WEST WELLS STREET – NORTH PLANKINTON AVENUE TO NORTH WATER STREET (WEST SIDE OF THE RIVERWALK)   (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that the West side of the Riverwalk at East/West Wells Street will be closed starting on Monday April 30, 2018 to November, 2018 as the bridge will be closed for repairs. (Jerrel Kruschke 286-3402)

NORTH JACKSON STREET AT EAST KILBOURN AVE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that starting on Monday, April 30th for approximately 4 weeks, the intersection of North Jackson Street and East Kilbourn Avenue will have no southbound, northbound or westbound traffic going through the intersection because of streetcar work. (Anthony Kotecki 286-2433)

WEST WISCONSIN AVENUE – NORTH 20TH STREET TO NORTH 39TH STREET (4TH , 10TH, 15TH ) (POLICE DISTRICT 3)
It is anticipated that West Wisconsin Avenue will be under construction starting on Monday, April 30, 2018 to November, 2018. West Wisconsin Avenue will only have one traffic lane in each direction during the construction flipping from the north side of the street to the south side. (Musa AbuLughod 286-2432)

SOUTH 6TH STREET -  WEST DAKOTA STREET TO WEST MONTANA STREET (14TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 6)
It is anticipated that South 6th Street from West Dakota Street to West Montana Street will be closed for sewer work starting on Thursday, April 19, 2018 and will be closed for 3 weeks. There will be a detour set up to go east West Oklahoma Avenue then north on South Chase Avenue and then west on West Rosedale Avenue.  (Sharon Betthauser 286-3632)

EAST MICHIGAN STREET -  NORTH CASS STREET TO NORTH JACKSON STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated there will be no westbound traffic on East Michigan Street from North Cass Street to North Milwaukee Street starting on Tuesday, April 17 for approximately 5 weeks for streetcar work. (Anthony Kotecki 286-2433)

WEST GREENFIELD AVENUE FROM SOUTH CESAR E. CHAVEZ DRIVE TO SOUTH 35TH STREET (2ND) (POLICE DISTRICT 2)
It is anticipated that there will be no westbound traffic on West Greenfield Avenue starting Wednesday, April 9, 2018 for approximately 8 weeks for reconstruction. (Roger Reed 286-3896)

WEST ST. PAUL AVENUE – NORTH PLANKINTON AVENUE TO NORTH 4TH STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
The streetcar will be testing on West St. Paul Avenue from North Plankinton to North 4th Street. They will maintain east and westbound traffic for vehicles (no trucks over 3 tons) during the testing.  This will start on Monday, April 9, 2018 and continue until May 5, 2018. WEST JUNEAU AVENUE – NORTH EDISON STREET TO WEST WINNEBAGO STREET (4TH & 6th ) (POLICE DISTRICT 1, 5)
West Juneau Avenue is going to be reconstructed from North Edison Street to West Winnebago Street starting on Monday April 2, 2018 to  July 1, 2018.  (Anthony Kotecki 286-2433)

EAST/WEST WELLS STREET – NORTH PLANKINTON AVENUE TO NORTH WATER STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that the East/West Wells Street bridge will be closed for repairs starting Monday, March 5, 2018 to November of 2018. (Jerrel Kruschke 286-3402)    

NORTH MARKET STREET – EAST WELLS STREET TO EAST KILBOURN AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
The ongoing City Hall work is changing the traffic flow on North Market Street starting Saturday, February 24, 2018 until further notice.  North Market Street will be a one-way street from 110’ north of East Wells Street to East Kilbourn Avenue for northbound traffic only with no parking allowed in this area of North Market Street.  There will be handicapped parking allowed on the east and west side of North Market Street from East Wells Street going north 100’.  We have also added 3 handicapped parking spots on East Wells Street from North Market Street going east to the driveway. There will be a loading zone placed on North Water starting at East Wells Street and going north.  The project will close the west sidewalk allowing access to City Hall from the south only.  Access will be maintained to the City’s lower parking garage driveway.  (Craig Liberto – Work: 286-3294)

EAST KILBOURN AVENUE – NORTH BROADWAY TO NORTH JACKSON STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that there will be no eastbound traffic on East Kilbourn Avenue from North Broadway to North Jackson Street starting Monday, February 19, 2018 for approximately 6 weeks for streetcar work.   (Anthony Kotecki 286-2433)

WEST ST. PAUL AVENUE - NORTH WATER STREET TO NORTH PLANKINTON AVENUE (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)
It is anticipated that westbound traffic on West St. Paul Avenue from North Water Street to North Plankinton Avenue will be closed starting on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 to early June for streetcar work. (Anthony Kotecki – Work 286-2433)

NORTH 1ST STREET – EAST PLEASANT STREET NORTH TO ALLEY (6TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 5)
It is anticipated that starting Friday, October 6, 2017 North 1st Street from East Pleasant Street north to the alley will be closed to traffic for construction on the Milwaukee Fortress building. (Sharon Betthauser - Work: 286-3632)

SOUTH 1ST STREET – WEST BECHER STREET TO WEST MAPLE STREET BRIDGE WILL BE OUT (12TH & 14TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 2)
It is anticipated that South 1st Street Bridge will be closed for repair between East Becher Street and East Maple Street starting on July 10, 2017 to November of 2018.  A truck detour is posted to avoid the low bridge on South Kinnickinnic Avenue. (Jerrel Kruschke - Work: 286-3402)  

NORTH WATER STREET – A POINT NORTH OF EAST WELLS STREET TO EAST KILBOURN AVENUE;
EAST KILBOURN AVENUE – NORTH WATER STREET TO NORTH MARKET STREET (4TH) (POLICE DISTRICT 1)

City Hall work starting Tuesday, January 19, 2016 until further notice.  The project will close sidewalks, crosswalks, and parking lanes on North Water Street .  The work on East Kilbourn Avenue will close the sidewalk, crosswalk, parking lane and a traffic lane.
