Stay tuned for our 2023 contest! Theme: Why Do You Recycle?

Students are invited to showcase their artistic talent and their commitment to reduce, reuse, and recycle by participating in the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works’ poster contest.

The contest is open to Milwaukee Public Schools K-12 students. Each participating school is permitted to submit up to three (3) posters per grade category for a total of twelve (12) posters. You may wish to have a pre-contest with teachers determining the top three (3) posters from each grade category to submit.

Grade categories:

  • Kindergarten through 2nd grade
  • 3rd through 5th grade
  • 6th through 8th grade
  • 9th through 12th grade

Complete the online submission form, attach the poster (JPEG or PDF preferred), and attach the release form through this online form: https://forms.gle/4kGEzZ6aFCJyaTdX9. Schools should submit only one entry per form.

Judging will begin shortly after the April 25th deadline and the length of time needed for this phase will be determined by the number of entries received. Winners will be notified as soon as possible after the deadline.

The 1st place prize winner in each of the four (4) grade categories will receive a $100 gift card. One grand-prize winner’s school will receive a $200 gift card for room supplies.

Winning artwork will be used to promote recycling in the City of Milwaukee, including, but not limited to, display on the poster contest website and in social media. Submitted artwork may be used to promote future contests.
