The Next Census Is Coming Soon!
The U. S. Census counts every person in the U. S. and takes place every 10 years. The next census is just around the corner. Households will be invited to participate in the 2020 Census in mid-March. For the first time ever, the Census Bureau will accept responses online and by phone, but you can still respond by mail if you prefer.
Census data is used to distribute billions in federal funds to local communities for education, health, housing and more. Wisconsin alone receives $12.6 billion annually based on census data. Census data decides how many seats we get in the U. S. Congress and election wards. Your information is private, and it is against the law for the Census Bureau to share it with immigration and law enforcement agencies.
Be sure to count everyone who is living in your household. To learn more about the census and census job opportunities, please visit: milwaukee.gov/2020Census
