Information on hiring for MPD is not available to the public on a consistent basis.
FPC and MPD should publish the overall process for hiring of officers on their websites.
The FPC has a webpage for Police Officer and Police Aide that outlines the hiring process, job requirements, and provides an email list for interested candidates to be contacted when a recruitment begins. FPC also posts forecasts for projected recruitment periods (when known) so potential candidates can have a guide for planning. Job announcements, when made, are presented at every televised bi-monthly FPC meeting and are posted on the FPC and City’s website.
The FPC is open to improvements regarding the information presented on their website and welcomes feedback on the content.
