The City of Milwaukee’s annual celebration of African-American culture, history, art, commerce, and entertainment will take place August 1 – 8, 2026.

The people and institutions featured here have etched a place in the history and fabric of the Bronzeville Arts and Entertainment District, and are celebrated for the important role each played in making Bronzeville the dynamic destination that it is.

Cool Aid & Canvases - A fun interactive kid friendly paint session where their canvas becomes a work of art on August 5th.
Bronzeville Good Neighbors Block Party - A dynamic family-friendly event designated to uplift the community with art, games and free activities on August 6th.
Line Dancing with Lady Jai Janay - Learn a few of the popular line dances! Beginner level class, appropriate for all levels and ages on August 6th.
Echoes of Bronzeville: Voices of the Past, Voices of the Future - A workshop exploring African-American traditonal stories of folktales and spoken word on August 7th.
Bronzeville Hour Presents: Style for Every Story - Two events that make up an energetic evening of art, fashion and community celebration on August 7th.
Voices of Milwaukee Bronzeville - Bronzeville Talk Back with Author Dr. Sandra E. Jones on August 8th.
From Script to Screen: An Acting Workshop with Rotimi of the Chi - The Artist Rotimi will facilitate a 2-hour actor’s workshop, which includes reading and analyzing scripts and engaging with participants on August 8th.
Bronzeville Sleepover for Education - School supplies warmly accepted on August 8th through August 9th.
