Milwaukee’s Summer Youth Employment Initiative

EARN & LEARN is a summer youth employment program initiated by Mayor Tom Barrett and includes the Employ Milwaukee Workforce Development, businesses, and community- and faith-based organizations.

EARN & LEARN’s mission is to assist young people from Milwaukee in making a successful transition from adolescence to productive adulthood by increasing work-readiness skills and providing work experience opportunities.

Community Work Experience

Connects youth ages 14-24 with jobs in the non-profit, community- and faith-based sectors with additional funding support from the Mayor’s EARN & LEARN Fund.

Connects youth ages 18+ to jobs in the private sector. Youth are hired to work for a local company and get real world experience.
