Milwaukee Police Department
Captain Warren E. Allen was appointed to the Milwaukee Police Department in September 1994. His first assignment as a police officer was District 5. In September 1999, Captain Allen was promoted to detective. As a detective, Captain Allen was assigned the majority of the time in the Vice Control Division but he also worked in the Violent Crimes, Robbery and Central Investigation Divisions. Captain Allen was promoted to lieutenant in February 2013 and assigned to the North Investigations Division. In 2014, he was assigned to District 7. In 2015, he was assigned to the Homicide Division and then back to North Investigations until 2017, when he was assigned to District 4. In 2019, Captain Allen was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau’s Robbery Division and eventually would be assigned acting captain duties for the Robbery Division. Captain Allen was promoted to the rank of captain on 09/06/20 and assigned to the executive command as the Night Watch Commander.
Captain Allen graduated summa cum laude from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management of Criminal Justice. He completed the International Associations of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations, and was awarded the Leadership Trilogy Award from the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. Captain Allen has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology (MS) from The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
