Milwaukee Police Department
Captain Jeremiah C. Jacks was raised in the City of Milwaukee and began his career with the Milwaukee Police Department in 1999. After graduating from the Police Academy, he was assigned to District Four, where he used proactive strategies to enhance the quality of life for the residents in the district. In 2003, Captain Jacks was transferred to the Prisoner Processing Section. Later that year, he was transferred to the Sensitive Crimes Division, where he specialized in sexual assault and child abuse investigations. In 2005, Captain Jacks was promoted to detective and was assigned to the Violent Crime Division. In 2006, Captain Jacks was transferred to the Homicide Unit, where he served as a detective until 2022 when he was promoted to Lieutenant. Captain Jacks supervised the Homicide Unit on the early and late shifts. During the years he served as a detective and lieutenant, he was a member and supervisor of the Crisis Negotiation Unit and Milwaukee Area Investigative Team. In 2024, he was promoted to Captain of Police and was assigned as the Commander of District 5.
Captain Jacks is a graduate of the Leadership in Police Organizations program and Northwestern Supervision of Police Personnel.
